Calling fellow bloggers!

I am a very sad blogger today. My camera (read: the camera on my phone) has stopped working, and I can no longer capture the delicious food stuffs that I make. This is especially sad because I have finally gotten to a point where I am comfortable in navigating the complexities of my diet and I am ready to start branching out from the “traditional items” or “comfort foods” that I have been posting and making some more original dishes!

But this is actually a great opportunity for me. I have recently decided that I really want to take StrictlyDelicious to the next level. I’m not sure what all this will include, but I want to make the experience better for my fantastic readers! One thing I know I want to improve is my photography! So here is where I ask for help from you wonderful people… If you would be so very kind, please give me your thoughts!

  1. First, any tips on a good camera to buy as an inexperienced photographer? I’m hoping I can get a good camera for under $200. Or is it just worth it to wait and save up a few hundred for a really good one?
  2. What about tips for photography in general? I’ve done a bit of research online learning about things like focus and exposure, but would love to hear your thoughts!
  3. How can a problem of poor lighting be solved?
  4. Also, any suggestions or things you’ve found that work when styling your food to shoot it?

I’m a newbie to all things blogging, and definitely to photography. I would be so thankful for your feedback as I work to make my blog better!

Thank you so, so very much!

Blogger love ❤

  1. Ahh, I just saw this, Lina! I’d say save up for a good beginner DSLR. You won’t regret it, I promise. I can give you recommendations if you’d like. Also, lots of natural light. That’ll help tremendously with your photos! Hope this helps and feel free to email me if you have any other questions! 😀

    • Hi Patty! I did end up going with a DSLR! After a lot of research and lots of thought on where I wanted my blog to go, I really didn’t want to settle for anything else. So now I’m doing A LOT of learning using my new Rebel T3!!! Please tell me what you think at the new site! I’d soooo welcome any tips and feedback from such a talented professional 🙂 ❤

  2. I’m not an expert when it comes to photography, but I find that if I have good natural light, my photos turn out much better. It does limit when you can take your photos, though!

I love hearing your thoughts!
